A brief update on the search for a new Town Manager for Norwich.
Both the Selectboard and the Town Manager Screening Committee have plans to meet on Friday, December 3 to interview the finalists for the Town Manager position. The Selectboard might extend an offer of employment that night.
Details of the meeting are not known. As of Thursday at 6 p.m, I did not see an agenda or meeting notice on the listserv or on the Town’s website. That may have Open Meeting Law implications. Maybe I missed it.
The Town Manager Screening Committee added candidate #31 to the finalists at its meeting on November 26. Candidate #7 has dropped out. That leaves candidates #29 and #31 as finalists. Neither candidate’s identity is public.
Also, at its meeting on November 29, the Selectboard added three more members to the Town Manager Screening Committee. Added as representing the public were Nathan Margolis and Matt Swett. From the staff, the Selectboard chose Director of Finance Fielding Essensa. Alternates were also chosen.
